2011: A Year in Review
On this blog in January 2011, we noted three trends we saw in the wedding industry, and they held true throughout the year.
1) Receptions at unique locations: Throughout the year, we were a part of ceremonies and receptions at unique locations. We hosted receptions at venues like a family beach houses to the beautiful Laurita Winery.
2) Monday through Thursday is the new weekend: Weddings and celebrations on off-peak days were common this year, and with good reason. Some venues offer discounts for weekday receptions, and Create Excitement does too! If you’re planning one this year, be sure to ask us about our discounts for Monday-Thursday receptions. Who said it has to be the weekend in order to party?
3) After reception parties: Who can blame party-goers for not wanting their fun to end early? Couples only have one special day after to share with their friends and family. Create Excitement had a great time hosting several after hour parties.
We also noticed that a lot of our couples chose to utilize some of our extra options like: slideshows, karaoke parties, and our Under the Stars light show. John wrote on our Yahoo page review.
“Ben is a true professional in every sense of the word and respected our wishes for no flashy lights, fog machines, etc. The "Dancing Under the Stars" lights made the room absolutely magical and even the catering staff was in awe.”
Of course, we also had a few unpredictable moments this year: We hosted our first-ever Hurricane wedding reception in late August!
As the winds and rains of Hurricane Irene raged outside, we hosted one memorable reception for Jessica and Matt.
It seemed to leave a lasting effect with the family too. The parents of the bride wrote in a review on WeddingWire.com that Create Excitement helped the crowd weather the storm.
“Everyone danced the entire night and forgot about Hurricane Irene, after the last song our guests were still wanting more music.”
2011 was wild! If we were a part of your special occasion, thanks for letting us share in your special day! We
were thrilled to have been able to make your celebrations magical.
In the coming days we’ll be posting a blog with the trends that we’re already seeing for 2012.
In the mean time, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us 1-800-746-5558, or use our contact form online. Ben and Ginette are happy to help with any of your questions.

Summer 2011 Wedding Highlights Part III
As the bridal party entered the reception room the song of choice was The Scorpions Rock You Like a Hurricane. The bride and groom’s first dance included the song Polka Dots and Moonbeams by Frank Sinatra recorded with The Tommy Dorsey orchestra. The situation outside could not compare to the amount of energy and enthusiasm during the reception. A song named Home by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros was a huge crowd pleaser. The last song of the evening was Hero by Enrique Iglesias which had an intimate and special meaning to the couple was followed by an encore of Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson. All in all it was a fantastic evening with a special group of guests and New Jersey’s Create Excitement Top NJ Wedding DJ was honored to play an important role.

New Jersey Shore Summer Wedding Highlights II
We were able to connect our DJ system to the already existing club disc jockey sound system with speaker throughout the entire 3rd floor and rooftop. Disc Jockey Music and MC announcements could be clearly heard by all guests. We kicked off Heather and Ryan’s NJ wedding reception with a great introduction song for the bridal party: Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti and Spearhead. The Bride and Groom entered their reception to a classic: Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen. Their first dance was followed by a very romantic You Are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne. After an evening of dancing along the Jersey Shore, Heather and Ryan closed the night to “Better Together by Jack Johnson”.
Between the magnificent ambience of the classy Avenue Nuit and the carefully selected music choices by the bride and groom we were super happy to be a special part of their big day.

Summer 2011 NJ Wedding DJ Highlights
The wedding took place at the beautiful Laurita Winery in New Egypt, NJ. Kelly Ann and Jason were spectacular to work with-very easy going and just a ton of fun! We were able to supply music and take care of all three aspects of their wedding: ceremony, cocktails, and reception. Jason and Kelly Ann were able to carefully select all of their ceremony music. Some of their great ideas included using the song Better Days by The Goo Goo Dolls as the brides maids walked down the aisle. Kelly Ann walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Sweet and Low by Augustana. The readers and officiant Susanne of Journeys of the Heart were able to take advantage of our wireless microphone to ensure all could hear and enjoy the ceremony. Cocktail hour was fun and unique. Jason asked us to create a custom DJ mash-up of the song Caravan performed by Van Morrison and the Counting Crows which we were happy to oblige. Their reception began with a grand introduction using the extraordinary song Lean on Me by Bill Withers. The first dance was extra special as Jason and Kelly Ann danced to Dance with You by Live (live at Paradisco). The reception was fantastic and the majority of the DJ music played was carefully crafted by the bride and groom. I have to say that one of the highlights of the Wedding Reception DJ Songs was when the guests enjoyed the old school DJ segment dance mix that included the Double Dutch Bus by Frankie Smith.

Three New Jersey Wedding Entertainment Planning No-No’s
2.Not setting clear expectations for your NJ Disc Jockey Entertainment. Even if the expectation is as simple as “I want my guests to feel free to dance and enjoy themselves”, it is important to communicate this to us before the event begins. We make sure we are prepared to meet the expectations you have set for your wedding reception.
3.Do not assume a rigid timeline. Don’t misunderstand me; Wedding Ceremony, Cocktail Hours, and Reception timelines are good and an important way to organize the greatest moments of your reception. However, having flexibility and understanding that there could be some bumps in the timeline will allow you to focus on the fun. We have seen New Jersey brides and grooms that were unable to fully enjoy their reception because they were anxious that the details of the party were not unfolding at the times they were expecting them to. We are professionals and will ensure that your day runs smoothly even if the cake comes out ten minutes later than planned.
Create Excitement is a polished, professional , and detail oriented DJ entertainment company that offers specialized services for Weddings, Birthday Celebrations, Corporate Events, Anniversary Parties, or any special celebration. Our years of experience have revealed that the success of an event depends on the quality and knowledge of the entertainment. The caliber and professionalism of our staff is beyond expectations. We guarantee to ensure every detail and request for your special event is accommodated. If you are searching for the ultimate in elegance and high level of customer service, we invite you to call us.

A New Jersey Shore Wedding to Remember
Courtney and Adam’s NJ wedding at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights, NJ can be summed up in one word: phenomenal!! To begin with, they both had a clear vision of how they wanted their wedding day to evolve. They expected their guests to dance and have a great time celebrating their day! The party literally started with their entrance song: “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. The guests were so enthusiastic and couldn’t wait to get on the dance floor, which they did the entire day. Their preferred wedding DJ play list included an eclectic mix of music that really worked for the crowd. Some of the songs were: “Bad Mama Jama” by Carl Carlton, “You Are (the Sun)” by Lionel Richie and “Let’s Groove” by Earth Wind and Fire. One of the most special and memorable moments came when we were asked to set aside some time to remember Courtney’s father. Every guest was asked to place a Bandana on their head (similar to the one her dad would wear) and rock out to “Brick House” by the Commodores. It was an extraordinary moment filled with celebration instead of sadness. Their Jersey Shore Wedding ended as spectacularly as it began with two of their favorite songs: “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles and “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now” by McFadden and Whitehead. We here at Create Excitement DJ Entertainment were thrilled to be a part of Courtney and Adam’s New Jersey wedding. Tuesday, May 24, 2011
New Jersey Professional Disc Jockey Services
We hosted Skip’s 50th Surprise Party. And I would have to declare it was definitely a surprise when I saw the look on his face! His wife decided to go all out and chose a party package 1 a new jersey disc jockey birthday party with the video dance party/ nj karaoke music songs option along with dj up lighting nj. The video dance party is always a hit. The guests enjoy seeing the newest videos and really get a kick out of the old school videos as well!
On Saturday, we were invited by Amanda and Josh to The Mansion at Bretton Woods where we hosted the ceremony, cocktails using wedding dj prelude songs, and reception. The request from the bride and groom was simple for our NJ Disc Jockey Service: set the tone for a relaxing, classy atmosphere. The Mansion is set up perfectly for this type of laid back reception. Guests were able to mingle on the grand porch or spend time with friends or family inside in one of the many relaxing rooms. After a first dance to Marry Me by The Piano Tribute Players an intimate non-traditional reception ensued. They decided to forgo all of the traditional reception elements with NJ DJ Services. Dancing was encouraged when the guests were ready-nothing forced or overly exuberant. The reception ended on a high note with the final song Time (Dirty Bit) by The Black Eyed Peas when all the guests gathered to celebrate Amanda and Joshua. Please call us if you are looking for Professional NJ Wedding DJ Services.
