Hurricane! What Hurricane?

Our wedding highlight includes Jessica and Matt’s dream wedding at Tendenza in Philadelphia, PA. Although the evening of August 28, 2011 was the evening of Hurricane Irene, it was also the same evening as Jessica and Matt’s special night. With months of planning behind them, they would not allow even a hurricane to spoil their happy occasion. The focus that evening was not on the weather but on their unique and special reception. Create Excitement Professional Wedding Entertainment NJ were lucky to host their ceremony, cocktail hour, and Wedding Reception DJ Songs. Their cocktail hour was thematically planned with an 80’s vibe and DJ music included artists such as Depeche Mode and New Order.

As the bridal party entered the reception room the song of choice was The Scorpions Rock You Like a Hurricane. The bride and groom’s first dance included the song Polka Dots and Moonbeams by Frank Sinatra recorded with The Tommy Dorsey orchestra. The situation outside could not compare to the amount of energy and enthusiasm during the reception. A song named Home by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros was a huge crowd pleaser. The last song of the evening was Hero by Enrique Iglesias which had an intimate and special meaning to the couple was followed by an encore of Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson. All in all it was a fantastic evening with a special group of guests and New Jersey’s Create Excitement Top NJ Wedding DJ was honored to play an important role.

New Jersey Shore Summer Wedding Highlights II

Another fantastic event took place at the chic Avenue Nuit in Long Branch, NJ. Heather and Ryan were lovely to work with and super organized. They choose an elegant harpist to perform at the ceremony. The ceremony musician was provided by Ambrosia Ensembles of NJ. The open-air rooftop cocktail and reception was magnificent- what a striking view of the NJ beach and Atlantic Ocean for guests to enjoy!

We were able to connect our DJ system to the already existing club disc jockey sound system with speaker throughout the entire 3^rd floor and rooftop. Disc Jockey Music and MC announcements could be clearly heard by all guests. We kicked off Heather and Ryan’s NJ wedding reception with a great introduction song for the bridal party: Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti and Spearhead. The Bride and Groom entered their reception to a classic: Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen. Their first dance was followed by a very romantic You Are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne. After an evening of dancing along the Jersey Shore, Heather and Ryan closed the night to “Better Together by Jack Johnson”.

Between the magnificent ambience of the classy Avenue Nuit and the carefully selected music choices by the bride and groom we were super happy to be a special part of their big day.

Summer 2011 NJ Wedding DJ Highlights

We have been having an awesome summer and have been lucky to have been a part of so many great New Jersey weddings. Here, we are going to highlight the DJ / MC entertainment of one of them at a unique NJ Wedding DJ services venue.

The wedding took place at the beautiful Laurita Winery in New Egypt, NJ. Kelly Ann and Jason were spectacular to work with-very easy going and just a ton of fun! We were able to supply music and take care of all three aspects of their wedding: ceremony, cocktails, and reception. Jason and Kelly Ann were able to carefully select all of their ceremony music. Some of their great ideas included using the song Better Days by The Goo Goo Dolls as the brides maids walked down the aisle. Kelly Ann walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Sweet and Low by Augustana. The readers and officiant Susanne of Journeys of the Heart were able to take advantage of our wireless microphone to ensure all could hear and enjoy the ceremony. Cocktail hour was fun and unique. Jason asked us to create a custom DJ mash-up of the song Caravan performed by Van Morrison and the Counting Crows which we were happy to oblige. Their reception began with a grand introduction using the extraordinary song Lean on Me by Bill Withers. The first dance was extra special as Jason and Kelly Ann danced to Dance with You by Live (live at Paradisco). The reception was fantastic and the majority of the DJ music played was carefully crafted by the bride and groom. I have to say that one of the highlights of the Wedding Reception DJ Songs was when the guests enjoyed the old school DJ segment dance mix that included the Double Dutch Bus by Frankie Smith.

Three New Jersey Wedding Entertainment Planning No-No’s

The intention of this NJ DJ wedding blog is to help New Jersey brides and grooms to navigate through the entertainment planning process of successful reception. After entertaining at hundreds of NJ, NY and PA area weddings, I decided it’s time to provide potential brides and grooms with a list of no-no’s that I have witnessed over the year in regards to wedding planning. 1.Do not put off communicating with your entertainer. We place a great emphasis on this-We help you get organized by providing you with a comprehensive planning packet, we offer on-line planning tools and we forewarn you well in advance of your event date via e-mail with a short list of to-dos as we prepare to go over details with you. Also, we are always here whether it is a phone call or an e-mail to assist with any questions you may have.

2.Not setting clear expectations for your NJ Disc Jockey Entertainment. Even if the expectation is as simple as “I want my guests to feel free to dance and enjoy themselves”, it is important to communicate this to us before the event begins. We make sure we are prepared to meet the expectations you have set for your wedding reception.

3.Do not assume a rigid timeline. Don’t misunderstand me; Wedding Ceremony, Cocktail Hours, and Reception timelines are good and an important way to organize the greatest moments of your reception. However, having flexibility and understanding that there could be some bumps in the timeline will allow you to focus on the fun. We have seen New Jersey brides and grooms that were unable to fully enjoy their reception because they were anxious that the details of the party were not unfolding at the times they were expecting them to. We are professionals and will ensure that your day runs smoothly even if the cake comes out ten minutes later than planned.

A New Jersey Shore Wedding to Remember

Courtney and Adam’s NJ wedding at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights, NJ can be summed up in one word: phenomenal!! To begin with, they both had a clear vision of how they wanted their wedding day to evolve. They expected their guests to dance and have a great time celebrating their day! The party literally started with their entrance song: “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. The guests were so enthusiastic and couldn’t wait to get on the dance floor, which they did the entire day. Their preferred wedding DJ play list included an eclectic mix of music that really worked for the crowd. Some of the songs were: “Bad Mama Jama” by Carl Carlton, “You Are (the Sun)” by Lionel Richie and “Let’s Groove” by Earth Wind and Fire. One of the most special and memorable moments came when we were asked to set aside some time to remember Courtney’s father. Every guest was asked to place a Bandana on their head (similar to the one her dad would wear) and rock out to “Brick House” by the Commodores. It was an extraordinary moment filled with celebration instead of sadness. Their Jersey Shore Wedding ended as spectacularly as it began with two of their favorite songs: “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles and “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now” by McFadden and Whitehead. After a first dance to Marry Me by The Piano Tribute Players an intimate non-traditional reception ensued. They decided to forgo all of the traditional reception elements with NJ DJ Services. Dancing was encouraged when the guests were ready-nothing forced or overly exuberant. The reception ended on a high note with the final song Time (Dirty Bit) by The Black Eyed Peas when all the guests gathered to celebrate Amanda and Joshua.
